search for update does not work

using the function 'Search for updates...' causing a error 'An error occurred during the request for new version'.
I suspect, our firewall denied the connection. What can we do?

You can turn off the autoupdate feature and download updates right from the download page. You can get notified about new updates on the release history page, via RSS feed or by subscribing to our twitter.
